BEST TUNDRA HIKE - CHAPIN/CHIQUITA/YPSILON AREA (CCY)

There are several excellent tundra hikes in RMNP, such as Mt. Ida or the Old Ute Trail. However, the hike from the Chapin Pass Trailhead to the area nicknamed CCY gets the nod for a couple of reason. First, you can actually summit three mountains in one hike here - or just pick any one if that's more than you want to bite off. Second, you'll get views into a part of the park away from Trail Ridge Road. Whatever part you choose to hike, remember to tread lightly in this fragile terraine - and enjoy the fantastic views!
