BEST SHORT HIKE - DREAM LAKE

There's a reason the hike to Dream Lake is one of the most popular in Rocky Mountain National Park - several reasons, in fact.  At 1.1 miles from the trailhead, it is short enough that anyone who is reasonably fit can enjoy it.  On the way up, you can view Bear Lake, where the trailhead is located, and pause to admire Nymph Lake, which you will skirt along the way.  Then there is the payoff - Dream Lake itself, one of the most beautiful spots in the park.  Catch the sunrise here or enjoy the view later in the day.  In winter, strap on some snowshoes and and marvel over the ice formations.  Whenever you choose to come, Dream Lake will take your breath away.

Bonus - up to some more hiking?  Continue .7 mile further to Emerald Lake.  It's well worth the extra effort.
