Glacier Gorge is an outstanding site on a great trail. It is convenient to Mills, Jewel, Black, Shelf, Solitude and other lakes.
It is a flat location for a tent; a privy is close by. Glacier Creek is 25 yards away for water and fishing, yet there is privacy from the trail.
Review - Hikerocky
Glacier Gorge campsite is about 1/4 mile beyond Mills Lake, just across Glacier Creek from the trail.
This camp is the most popular site in the park, based largely on its being located right in the heart of Glacier Gorge.
It is an excellent base camp for exploration of Shelf and Solitude Lakes or the lakes above Black Lake.
If you wish to camp here you must book well in advance.
The sites are smooth and level, if a bit cramped.
There are several convenient fallen-log benches.
