Review

Mill Creek Basin is an excellent site for first time backpackers, small children or those with health problems, since it is so close to Hollowell Park Trailhead.  It is located in a stand of lodgepole pine next to a meadow.  There are several large logs in and next to the meadowthat make excellent cooking and eating spots.  There are also a couple of shady places next to the nearby gentle stream.  The composting toilet is at the edge of the meadow.  There are no walls or shielding trees or rocks, although it is not visible from either site.  Elk and deer can be seen in the meadow, and there are aspens that turn gold in the fall.
